Excessive worry or fear of being judged or criticized
Avoidance of social situations
Sweating, trembling, or a racing heart in social situations
This may lead those with social anxiety to avoid social events and have difficulty forming relationships.
Social anxiety group therapy is a type of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working to support a small group of individuals to overcome their social anxiety issues. In this setting, the therapist will guide the group to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. This allows individuals in the group to foster a sense of community and connection.
With group therapy, individuals will also be able to gain strategies to cope with anxiety, build confidence and learn from other’s experiences.
Le Psych Loft offers in-person group therapy for individuals with social anxiety. It involves:
10 weeks long evening sessions
Small groups (4 – 6 people)
1.5 hours per session
Open to individuals 16 years old and up
